NGP has successfully completed the recoating of ten box coolers for the Tidewater Springer Tide project at Dales Marine Drydock, in Aberdeen, UK.

Scope of work

The project involved cleaning, sandblasting, and painting ten box coolers. The NGP team worked with Dales Marine staff, who dismantled and moved the coolers.

Challenges and solutions

The coolers were effectively cleaned for marine fouling and the sandblasting was executed by trained NGP personnel. The team prioritized the aft coolers, beginning the painting process before completing sandblasting on all units, a strategic move to maintain project timelines.

Coating process

The coating phase proceeded. The coolers were painted with high-quality Sakatonit Extra AR-F no. 2 paint, known for its durability and protection against marine conditions.

Final Steps

After the coolers cured, they were thoroughly cleaned inside, and the gasket surfaces were grinded to ensure a clean and smooth surface.

NGP thanks Dales Marine, Seaward staff, and all involved for their dedication. This collaboration demonstrates NGP’s readiness for future projects.
